FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What Is Not Included?
Gratuity for the crew is not included in the ticket price. If you feel they did a good job, please let them know it!
Does the tour go out into the Gulf of Mexico?
No. In general, there's not much to see, except water in the gulf, as most of the local wildlife makes their home in the protected waters nearest the bays. Also, the waters of the bay are calm, thereby providing a much smoother ride.
Do you cancel tours due to bad weather?
Tours usually run in light rain and minimal weather conditions. The tour's boats have a roof that runs the length of the vessel. The tour operator reserves the right to postpone or cancel tours if there is weather in the area that might threaten the safety of the passengers and crew. Weather conditions are monitored right up to the departure time, and postponements and cancellations can be made up to one hour prior to your departure time.
Will I get wet on the tour?
Probably not. The tour boats are fully covered on top, but the sides are open, and if there is light rain or wind, some sea spray or rain can get through the sides of the boat. For any tour that stops on one of the beach islands, water shoes are recommended, as sometimes guests may have a few steps in the water before getting to the dry part of the beach.
Are children allowed? What about strollers?
Yes, children of all ages are allowed as the tours are great for all ages. Lightweight folding strollers are allowed to be stowed on board during the tour. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Due to U.S. Coast Guard regulations, all passengers are required to have an E-Ticket, or be listed on an E-Ticket, regardless of age.
Are food and beverages available during the tour?
Light refreshments, such as water, sodas and individually wrapped snacks, are not included, but are available for purchase on board (cash only). Guests are more than welcome to bring their own food & drinks. There is one very strict rule, though: NO red wine! Guests should bring plastic cups, even for wine.
Is there a restroom on the boat?
How smooth is the ride? Am I likely to get seasick?
The tour boats are a dual-hull design, which provides a very smooth ride. The tours also stick to the back bays, so there are no encounters with big rolling waves like you'd find on the open ocean.
Can we bring a cooler on board?
Yes, feel free to bring a small cooler, as those can be stored easily on the boat. Large coolers may have to be placed in areas away from your seats.
Is the boat handicap accessible?
Due to the tidal changes and constantly changing dock heights, persons in wheelchairs cannot be accommodated.
Is the trip safe for pregnant women?
These tours are safe, calm and comfortable. There are no restrictions for pregnant women, but it is recommended that pregnant women may want to consult a physician, just to be sure.
Will we be able to feed, pet or touch any dolphins we might see?
The tour operator is "Dolphin SMART"-approved, and as such, strives to maintain the safety of dolphins. Wild dolphins are protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act, and cannot be touched, chased, pursued, harassed or fed.
Is there parking available nearby?
Yes, there is free parking available at the tour's meeting location. Additional information will be provided on your E-Ticket after purchase.
Are there life jackets on board?
Yes, per U.S. Coast Guard regulations, the boats carry life jackets for all passengers EXCEPT for newborns or infants under the age of 3. It is recommended that you bring a life jacket and/or flotation device for very young children.
What should I wear?
While the top of the boat in covered, this is an open-air boat; therefore, guests should dress according to the day's weather conditions. Water shoes are recommended.
Should I bring a camera or binoculars with me?
